What is Pediatric Private Duty Nursing?
Pediatric private duty nursing is skilled nursing care provided on a hourly basis by a licensed Registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Care for pediatric patients can either be short-term or long-term care provided inside of the child's home for a duration of 4 to 24 hours a day.
Who is Considered a Pediatric?
Pediatric patient's range from the age of newborn to 21 years of age.
What Qualifies my child
for pediatric nursing?
Children may qualify for pediatric private duty nursing services by having one or more of the following conditions:
Have an enteral feeding tube (G/J Tube, PEG Tube, or NG Tube) and requires enteral nutrition
Requires intermittent or continuous intravenous therapy
Have a tracheostomy tube
Ventilator dependent or requires oxygen, C-PAP therapy, and/or BiPAP therapy
